Pre-requisites

 

Track 1
- Technology/Science/Engineering diploma/degree from Local Universities or Polytechnics Foreign qualifications to be considered with reference to PEB Notification
- 2 years of WSH relevant working experience
- Completed 3 Pre Requisite, with 1 module from Industry & 1 module from Soft Skills

Track 2
- WPLN6/‘O’ Level English C6 & WPLN6/‘O’ Level Maths C6 & ‘O’ Level Physics C6/Physics bridging course
- Possess WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to Level B
- 2 yrs of post-Advanced Certificate in WSH (Level B) working experience
- Completed 3 Pre Requisite, with 1 module from Industry & 1 module from Soft Skills

Track 3
- WPLN6/‘O’ Level English Grade C6 & WPLN 6/‘O’ Level Maths C6 & ‘O’ Level Physics C6/Physics bridging course
- Possess WSH skills and knowledge equivalent to Level B
- 5 yrs of WSH working experience with 2 yrs of which should be recent working experience
- Completed 3 Pre Requisite modules

 

Course Outline

 

Module 1. Manage WSH in Construction Industry [Pre-requisite module]

  1. Conduct WSH Risk Assessment for key trades and daily work activities in the construction industry in accordance with organisational procedures and legal requirements
  2. Implement the suggested Risk Control measures in accordance with the implementation plan developed.
  3. Assist in monitoring the implementation of risk control measures and in the compilation of report to management on the status of the implementation plan

 

Module 2. Manage WSH in Manufacturing Industry [Pre-requisite module]

  1. Identify WSH hazards (including fire hazards) and assess the risks in accordance with organisational procedures and legal requirements
  2. Develop the control measures to address the WSH hazards and risks identified
  3. Formulate implementation plan in accordance with the organisational Risk Management Plan
  4. Communicate WSH hazards and risks, proposed control measures and implementation plan to relevant stakeholders
  5. Monitor implementation of the control measures in daily activities
  6. Report to management on the status of the implementation plan

 

Module 3. Problem Identification L4 [Pre-requisite module]

  1. Criteria for identifying performance deficiency or cause of failure in
  2. organisational systems and processes
  3. Criteria for shortlisting ideas using problem-solving tools
  4. Application of problem solving tools and techniques
  5. Techniques used during problem solving and decision making processes
  6. Types of analytical tools and techniques in terms of problem identification
  7. Types of decision making models for arriving at the preferred solution and their features
  8. Techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of implemented solution and implementation plan
  9. Factors affecting the effectiveness of an implementation plan
  10. Rationale for the different components in a corrective action plan.
