In-Company Training

 

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to analyse the organisation’s need for virtual collaboration in achieving organisational goals and objectives. They will also learn to establish the supporting infrastructure to operationalise virtual collaboration.

 

Participants who fulfil all requirements will receive a Statement of Attainment (SOA) issued by the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).

Course Content

Analyse the need for virtual collaboration in achieving organisational goals and objectives

  • Understand how virtual collaboration can enhance the fulfilment of Company’s vision and mission and aid the implementation of the organisation’s business plan and strategies
  • Recognise the necessity, advantages and challenges of virtual collaboration
  • Identify the parties involved in virtual collaboration
  • Learn to spot optimal situations for virtual collaboration
  • Develop virtual collaboration so as to contribute to overall goals

Establish a virtual team in line with intended goals and objectives

  • Design a flexible, fluid virtual team structure comprising core, operational and outer network
  • Select virtual team members based on based on experience, specialisation and value, their ability to work with technology and their attitudes towards teamwork and team cohesiveness
  • Define and communicate roles and responsibilities to virtual team members
  • Align a work team’s roles, responsibilities, objectives and expectations to organisational goals
  • Define leadership responsibilities
  • Delegate tasks to virtual team
  • Allocate resources to facilitate virtual teams in achieving goals and objectives

Establish an infrastructure to operationalise virtual collaboration

  • Put in place collaborative tools and the supporting setup for virtual collaboration to take place
  • Put in place training courses to equip one with competencies to engage in virtual collaboration

Foster cohesion and commitment among virtual team members towards common goals and objectives

  • Utilise team gaming on virtual or online virtual platforms to encourage collaboration among virtual team members
  • Establish communication protocols
  • Encourage collaboration and cohesion
  • Reiterate the contributions of the virtual team
  • Celebrate team accomplishments

Manage virtual team’s performance in line with goals and objectives set

  • Monitor team progress in achieving goals and objectives set
  • Evaluate team’s cohesion and commitment levels
  • Evaluate team efficiency and effectiveness
  • Evaluate team and individual team member’s performance against objectives and targets

 

Learning Methodology

This course will be conducted through mini-lectures, interactive activities, group discussions, role play, quizzes, videos, games, case studies and assessments / tests.

This course is suitable for staff in managerial roles and individuals in professional / talent positions with responsibilities for the operation and performance of an organisational unit.
