Course Overview

This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills, and attitudes required of a Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer to develop, implement, maintain and update organisational emergency preparedness and response plan for a range of contingencies including

 

fire & explosion, power failure, chemical spillage, leakages, the collapse of cranes, form-work, scaffolding and shoring.

 

Who Should Attend

This course is relevant to those who would like to attain the Specialist Diploma in WSH, which is part of the certification requirement under the WSH Act, in order to be a WSH Officer.

Total Training Hours: 17.33 hours

 

Course Outline

  • Conduct a hazard and vulnerability assessment to identify the types of emergency scenarios for preparedness and response planning relevant to the organisation
  • Develop an organisational emergency preparedness and response plan to address the findings from the hazard and vulnerability assessment
  • Implement organisational emergency preparedness and response in accordance with the plan
  • Maintain the organisational emergency preparedness and response plan according to organisational needs
  • Review and recommend improvements to the organisational emergency preparedness and response plan according to organisational needs
