Course Outline
The course integrates Reading and Writing skills and covers the following:
- How to get started in writing
- Identifying important aspects of writing
- Describing pictures
- Persuading others in writing
- Analysing argumentative writing
- Writing instructions and procedures
- Analysing work-related information
- Writing letters of job application and resumes
- Interpreting financial matters
- Interpreting insurance matters
- Writing business email, letters and reports
- Writing minutes of meeting and summaries
Mode of Assessment
- All trainees for Workplace Literacy (WPL) are required to sit for a Pre WPLN Assessment to evaluate their language proficiency levels before they are recommended to the different levels for class.
- The Pre WPLN Assessment is computer-based and consist of four components - Reading, Listening, Speaking and Writing.
- After the completion of the training, all trainees are required to sit for a Post WPLN Assessment to assess their improvements.
Certification Obtained and Conferred by
Statement of Attainment (SOA) from SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG)
- Mapped to ES WSQ - Workplace Literacy Writing (Advanced)
