With aquatic food resources already under pressure and declining, it is essential to develop aquaculture products in a sustainable fashion to improve aquatic food security.
It is increasingly important for Environmental Scientists to understand the theories of sustainability and the effects of humans on the climate as well as to know how to plan and lead sustainable business and environmental practices. With JCU’s Bachelor of Business and Environmental Science (Aquaculture), you’ll learn how to manage the delicate balance between profit, policy, conservation and aquaculture. This multi-disciplinary program provides students with core knowledge and training in the application of business and environmental principles, with particular attention to aquaculture.
Graduates of the program will be able to integrate and apply a coherent body of theoretical and technical knowledge in the disciplines of business and environmental science, with depth in sustainability principles and tropical contexts in the area of aquaculture.
