Course Overview
This unit of competency specifies the knowledge, skills and attitudes required of a Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) Officer to use various tools to establish and manage a WSH incident investigation and analysis process that would lead to the identification of the root cause and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures in order to prevent the recurrence of similar incident at the workplace.
Pre-requisites
You are required to fulfill any of the following tracks to be eligible for the course.
Track 1:
- Recognized Technology/ Science-related Diploma/ Engineering Degree
- And at least 2 years of WSH relevant working experience
Track 2:
- Have at least 2 years of post-WSH qualification working experience as WSH Supervisor, WSH Coordinator or similar occupation role
- Possess Employability Skills Workplace Literacy Level 6 or GCE O Level English Grade C6
- GCE O Level Math & Science Grade C6, or bridging course
- Possess GCE ‘O’ Level Science (Physics) grade C6, or Certification of Performance Physics bridging course
- Possess WSH Skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Advanced Certificate in WSH
Track 3:
- Have at least 5 years of WSH-related working experience, in which 2 years should be recent working experience such as WSH Supervisor/Coordinator
- Possess Employability Skills Workplace Literacy Level 6 or GCE O Level English Grade C6
- GCE O Level Math & Science Grade C6, or bridging course
- Possess GCE ‘O’ Level Science (Physics) grade C6, or Certification of Performance Physics bridging course
- Possess WSH Skills and knowledge equivalent to that of Advanced Certificate in WSH
Note: All Modules will be assessed according to full qualification. You may also be required to undergo a pre-qualifying test. Applications without ALL the above required supporting documents will be considered incomplete and rejected.

Course Outline
- Develop WSH incident investigation and analysis process for investigation and reporting of incidents
- Manage the WSH incident investigation and analysis in accordance with organisational procedures
- Analyse the root cause(s) and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA) to prevent WSH incident recurrence
- Evaluate effectiveness and recommend improvements to the WSH incident investigation and analysis process based on identified gaps
Certificate Obtained and Conferred by
Upon completion of the course a Statement of Attainment (SOA) from the SkillsFuture Singapore (SSG).
